Named after Kilimanjaro’s jagged second summit, the Mawenzi Deluxe King is the room that sums up Katiti: warm, handmade and quietly generous. A wall of hand-laid red brick runs behind a flat-screen TV on a teak shelf, and you enter through a heavy carved door in the Swahili style — the kind of door you usually see in Stone Town.
The king bed has a carved teak headboard, soft pillows and white cotton linen that is changed and pressed daily. The en-suite bathroom continues the brick and teak theme, with a basin on a wooden stand and a rain shower that runs properly hot after a dusty day in Arusha National Park or a long flight into Kilimanjaro.
Air conditioning keeps nights cool in the warm months; in the cool season you will want the extra blanket in the wardrobe. Breakfast in the garden restaurant, Wi-Fi and the airport pick-up are all included.

- Free pick-up and drop-off at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for every booking. Send us your flight number.
- Children are welcome. Under 12s share their parents’ room at no room charge; babies under 3 stay free, and a cot is ready on request.
- Free cancellation up to 14 days before arrival. After that, part of the deposit may be kept — see the booking terms.
- A 30% deposit confirms your room; the rest is paid when you arrive — cash, card or mobile money.
